The "America's Job Creators for a Strong Recovery" was formed in response to president Joe Biden's proposal to roll back Trump-era tax breaks for businesses and high-income earners to pay for infrastructure improvements and other projects. The new coalition is currently researching counter-messaging with a focus on Arizona, a competitive purple state with two moderate Democratic senators, Mark Kelly and Kyrsten Sinema, according to the news station.
"The record tax hikes that Democrats are seeking to ram through could not come at a worse time for America's job creators who are just beginning to recover from a crippling pandemic," said Eric Hoplin, CEO of the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors, which is leading the new coalition.
Other coalition members include the American Frozen Food Institute, the Auto Care Association, the International Franchise Association, the National Grocers Association and Wine &and Spirits Wholesalers of America.
The coalition is not yet sharing its fundraising goals but it plans to target numerous key states led by moderate Democratic lawmakers, CNBC reported.
